Whew! I did take the photos, but with our travel adventures in February and into March, I am JUST now getting to posting the 10 on 10 for February 10, 2012:

1: SJB loves his tooth brushes
2. NJB has a new carseat and with that a new fort, hide out, play space (aka: a cardboard box)
3. SJB prefers bare feet - even in the winter.
4. NJB is a silly boy
5. an interesting texture @ the salvation army donation drop off
6. a very tired NJB after his valentines day party at school
7. NJB being silly, again.
8. best cookies ever: lime coconut sugar cookies.
9. SJB had a turn in the box.
10. afternoon art fun.

This was a pretty boring day in our world, but still, it was a fun and challenging to remember to grab the camera once an hour all day long. March will prove to be a challenge as I will be driving across the country on the 10th, but we will do our best! Stay tuned for the next 10 on 10.

I could not believe it when I got the note to come take Jenna's one year photos, the year had gone by so quickly - but it was so fun today to capture her and her big brother (and mom and dad too) for this time in her life! so close to standing on her own, she already has some great words (momma!) and is such a sweet little girl. Always and honor and a great time with this family! We even took our studio set up on the road, and had a great family session in the dining room. So fun. Thank you!

what an honor it is to have my art hang on the wall at a place that has so much potential to shine behind it. today was fun, my oldest son and i had a date afternoon and spent a few hours at Kewl Beans Cafe in Warren, Michigan hanging several pieces on the freshly painted bold red wall!

I have come across an inspiring idea and challenge that I would like to ask myself to do in 2012 - it's the 10 on 10: on the tenth of each month, take a photo an hour for ten consecutive hours. Finding much life and beauty among the ordinary things of our day! since I came across this idea a little bit late in the game for January - I selected on day, one hour of adventure and chose 10 photos that captured some fun with my boys at the Henry Ford. it wasn't the 10th, but it was the 5th of January...and we had a great day. Oh, and my new camera had JUST come the day before, so it was even more fun.

here we go!

2011 was wonderful, I am quite thankful for all the opportunities to capture YOUR moments! thank you for the honor. the last month has been filled with creating and capturing moments in my own family, and there have been many! here's to 2012 having new opportunities, exciting milestones, and the photos and projects to celebrate those moments. Happy New Year! Looking forward to seeing what they year brings to YOU.

i love new toys, especially when i have people who can play with me! kmbD is expanding some of our photography gear to include a simple, crisp, white seamless background - and had some fun playing with our family to capture some great shots. it was a learning process, and we hope to keep practicing. if interested in utilizing this type of set up, contact us today!

6 months of fun

my little nephew was home for Christmas, and of course, auntaratzi had to come and capture some photos of him with ALL his grandparents, as it was such a special time to document. we ventured to the zoo, in the butterfly house, as it was quite warm there - and being from Arizona, his blood is thin in the Michigan winter weather. he did great, and so did the parents (grand included!) can't wait to watch this little man grow and explore more all around him. xo

we went the distance for a really fun family session at Kenisngton Metro Park, if you haven't been there lately, I highly recommend heading out to to the farm! One of our passions is to make everything look poised and ready. Being that one of kmbD's goals for 2011 was to create a new look to kmbDetails back in JUNE when we celebrated our 3 year anniversary, it didn't happen because we were TOO BUSY taking photos, creating creations and simply living life...nothing is different now, just as busy as always, but it was time to cross New Identity Package off the to-do list, especially with all the fun events and photo sessions we have in the works through the rest of the year. keeping on by keeping busy! I may have not been able to make my more recent posts lately, well, actually, since I made the rules for this blog, I can change them, right? becauce I have been SO busy! besides chasing my boys, even the baby who is now walking behind push objects (at 9.5 months, look out world!!) but also because kmbDetails was recently hired to create a new visual image for a local mary kay representative who is about to go to the national level. still being green in the mary kay world, I have a lot to learn about her history, but with my talents in the graphics department, this inspiring woman will have an image to help sell her talents to the nation, any maybe even the world?! plus she is going to have an awesome photo shoot next week. nothing is stopping her. our big release is scheduled for September, so stay tuned for the visual release. we are super excited. and you should be too! and how did this happen...all because kmbDetails posted some business cards with a CR code on the community board at goldfish swim school. thanks for looking, scanning and stopping by! why don't you scan this too and give us a call today to see what we can create and capture for you! enjoy the day!

so I may be a bit bias, but these boys are my favorite in the whole world! my youngest just turned 7 months and we had a little 'guys only' photo session in the yard. i am constantly amazed at how fast my kids grow up and all they they learn...just last week, the baby would fall over if you sat him down, and now look at him. and today, my oldest told me all the stages that a caterpillar goes through to reach a butterfly...amazing! it's these moments that I LOVE to capture with my camera.

chalk it up to craigslist.org to provide an opportunity of epic and random proportions. while selling my hostas, I met a local fellow photographer who we had a few too many paths that crossed - well, one thing led to another and I found myself in an awe inspiring, though provoking and unique location in detroit, camera in hand with one task : to take photos. it has been a long time since I took photos for art sake, for myself and for a different kind of fun...what a day. a book is in the works to collect the images and thoughts of the day.

and we're back in the {blog} game!

After a long hiatus from the blogging efforts, I have been wanting to reach out and start this portion of my work up again! So, rather than over analyzing it any more, stressing over the details and how it will look (really, it's just a blog, right), I'll save that energy for bigger projects - I am just going to get to it and then get back out there and capture more wonderful moments in your lives! So here we go!

Last night, I worked with a wonderful company with whom kmbDetails has been contracted as a wedding photographer (fantastic gig): mike staff productions - we shot an awesome couple on a beautiful day! the details were spectacular and their love and friendship filled the day. I was assigned to the groom, Shane - he, along with his groomsmen, were awesome. The day felt so relaxed and their ceremony was beautiful as well as the afternoon of photos. We went to Stony Creek Metro Park, Gus O'Conners in Rochester and then finally to Twin Lakes Golf Club - the rain held off too! (The bride said she paid $100 for a coat check, as it is Michigan, in May, so naturally it would snow. She was a bit miffed that she paid for it and did not need it - but I suggested she look at it as she paid $100 for a perfect weather day!). Once the pics are up on the Mike Staff blog, I'll share the link.

It was wonderful to head back to Stony Creek as I shot my first official kmbD wedding there!
